With over 24 years in the ship repair industry, Matt Schaltegger brings a wealth of experience from every major U.S. port, having held roles such as foreman, estimator, planner, project manager, and VP. As the General Manager of American Scaffold, LLC, Matt oversees daily operations, strategic planning, and profit and loss. He has developed and implemented a robust ability to project results, ensuring reliable financial projections for sponsors and stakeholders. Matt’s personal philosophy is to “be the solution,” fostering a culture of innovation through empowerment and trust within his team.
Logan McKenzie, with a decade of experience in the scaffold industry, serves as the Business Unit Leader for American Scaffold’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. After earning a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, he advanced from builder to maritime supervisor at Sunbelt Rentals, then joined American Scaffold, where he rose from foreman to his current role. Logan oversees profit and loss and regional operations, with notable achievements including managing one of the company’s largest projects at the Explosive Handling Wharf in Kings Bay, GA. His leadership focuses on positivity and teamwork. Outside of work, Logan enjoys playing pool and spending time with his family.
With over 30 years in the scaffold industry, Ralph Amezcua leads the San Diego branch of American Scaffold. Starting in 1994, he advanced from yard worker to Business Unit Leader, overseeing yard operations, office administration, field personnel, and estimating. Key projects include the San Diego Airport and several American warships. Outside work, Ralph is a classic car enthusiast and community supporter, often attending car shows and fundraisers. A devoted father, he also coached his sons in various sports. Ralph’s leadership fosters a family-like culture and ensures effective issue resolution and exceptional project outcomes.
With over 30 years in the scaffolding industry, Gus Rubalcaba brings extensive experience across both commercial scaffolding and maritime sectors. Serving as the Business Unit Leader for the Pacific Northwest at American Scaffold, he has led some of the company’s largest projects with a focus on production, safety, and customer relations. Gus’s leadership philosophy is grounded in teamwork, respect, and honesty, fostering a culture where everyone can thrive. He believes in having a passion for your work, embracing challenges, and staying focused on future goals. Outside of work, Gus enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family.
